PC/PBT alloys have an optimal combination of impact, stiffness, heat and chemical resistance. Typical applications are parts that require excellent impact strength and improved chemical resistance compared to straight polycarbonate. PC/PBT alloys offer outstanding aesthetic and flow characteristics. They are used for the production of automotive parts, hand tool housings, irrigation components and wiring connectors. Suitable Flame Retardants are high molecular weight polymeric flame retardants such as F-2400, F-3100. Another interesting FR to consider is FR-370 which combines bromine and phosphorus on the same molecule. Antimony trioxide is not needed in most PC/PBT applications.
